Yikes.

There's so much stuff to do before we leave for Hawaii and not nearly enough time to do it in. Mike took care of (most of) the rest of the Freecycling today. The only thing that's left is the organ. One person was interested, but then...

We're dressing up as pirates tonight and going to a party with WJS. Not much else. We really should be packing instead of partying, but hey, who am I to argue?

Strip-tastic!

So I couldn't help wandering over to that website to see what the heck goes through their heads over at The Gap. And, in a short time, cobbled together tiny avatars that looked like people I know.

Most importantly, I made one of Dragons, which looks strikingly similar, especially because his dance moves are exactly the same!

Check it out:

And yes, I admit I made his thighs a bit too meaty. I didn't want to do it over because of the time investment in waiting for the damn thing to load.

...

I successfully Freecycled for the first time today. The coffee table is gone. Sadly, no one seems to want the organ. Maybe we'll end up taking it with us. Who knows what wonderful surprises await us in this life?

It's all good.

So I survived my minor bug and am now mostly over the exhaustion of all the stuff I've been doing lately. I've got some more things on the table though, not the least of which is leaving for Hawaii in a few days for the weddings trip. It was great of our friends to plan their weddings close together so it would be convenient. Woot.

I also finally got a picture out of Dragons (who got it out of WJS) of Drunken Batman with the Buddha Lemur, who went as my emissary. You know, since, alas, I couldn't make it what with the work and everything.

The guy on the right with the Guinness is the Drunken Batman and I have been told the guy on the left is Nicholas Jitkoff, author of Quicksilver, which he describes as "An evolving framework for accessing and manipulating many forms of personal data." Dragons describe it as "Everyone's favorite app that I never heard of."

MacZealots did shoot a good photo of DB with The Cow, which can be seen along with a bunch of other pics from that evening.

It seems that Wil also gave away MY FAVORITE plush delicious monster to someone from Purdue. Seriously. This person was from Indiana. Worse yet, he did not get a picture of this alleged Indianian, nay, West Lafayette-ette.

That is all.

Blech.

I think I'm sick and getting sicker. Achy? Check. Uncomfortably warm, although cold? Check. Exhausted? Check. My throat is really quite raw as well, but that could just be from talking all day long for days in a row.

I'm all on my own for more than 36 hours -- the entire first half of the weekend! Dragons are in Chicago, ostensibly whooping it up with Mr. Shipley. I got to catch the bus home. Luckily, the DART driver seems to have a crush on me, as he drove 1/2 a mile off route to drop me off right at the condo complex. Yay, no walking! Yay, public transportation!

. . .

Yesterday there was a disturbance at the mall. Area readers will recall a fairly recent other disturbance as well. Today, a whole gaggle of youths ran on the bus while another few yelled at them about an alleged assault, eventually calling out at least a half-dozen mall security guys and getting almost everyone thrown off the bus. As we pulled away from the scene, police cars arrived. I have no frickin' clue what any of it was about.

The rest of my commute was long and uneventful.

. . .

P.S. Vote no on I-912.

. . .

P.P.S. Apparently a huge high-tech sexy bowling alley will be opening next month in Tukwila. This will bear checking out.

The close of my year.

Well, today's the last day before I turn old. Yep.

Anyway, the martini's are postponed. We're going to the horse races instead. When I say "we", I mean, me, dragons, and whoever still has hole in their schedule for Friday night that wants to come. Seriously, I just e-mailed invites five minutes ago. Poor planning strikes again!

...

I've been sitting here trying to think of a snappy ending, but I think now I'll just let it go. More later.

Yar! Your mom be a scuppering sea-hag!

We've been playing a lot of Puzzle Pirates lately. So much fun. I spend hard earned (pillaged) cash on fabulous clothes, Dragons spend theirs on keeping up the boat, and Wil....well, he sure spends an awful lot on hemp! I haven't seen what Rob is spending all his pieces of eight on, bu it is rumored he's saving up for a shoulder octopus.

If you come on, we sail on the Cobalt Sea and I sail as Leemarghs.

In other news, my birthday's coming up next Friday, and I am tossing around the idea of going to that martini bar near Pioneer Square and having a few icy ones. We'll see.

'Til next time, mateys!
